This course is designed to introduce the basic vocabulary, concepts, methods, and academic research techniques. It includes various methods and approaches for conducting research, how to identify a research topic, identify and synthesize research literature, plan a research study in Information and Communication Technology, and formally report research findings.  At the end of the course, the students are expected to apply learning and develop a research proposal.

This course deals with the theories, concepts, and principles attendant to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the research process in the context of the nature of research, the research proposal, and research report writing. This is a process–oriented course, which aims to equip the students with the necessary knowledge, skills, perspective, and attitudes for conceptualizing and operationalizing the research process.
