Section 3-A
This course provides the student with the
introduction to the skills, knowledge and techniques required to manage and
maintain an accommodation department in all types and sizes of hospitality
operations, both public and private. Students will gain an understanding of
front office and accommodation reservation systems including an introduction to
a computerized reservation system. Additionally, there is a strong emphasis on
acquiring practical operational skills provided by the requirement to undertake
work placement at a commercial property. It will also provide the students with
an overview of the management of the interrelationships of various hotel
departments.
