This course explores fundamental questions about art, aesthetics, and artistic expression. In the duration of the semester, students will examine definitions of art, aesthetic theories, and the ontology of artistic creation. The curriculum covers major art forms including visual arts, film, performing arts, and interactive media. Through historical analysis from prehistoric to contemporary art movements, students shall trace art's evolution and cultural significance. The course also distinguishes between high art, popular culture, and folk traditions while developing critical analysis skills, and helping students learn various approaches to art interpretation, thematic analysis, and aesthetic appreciation, fostering deeper understanding of art's role in society and human experience.
