Advanced Organization of Database_First Sem 2627_OPEN-MSITOUCM 1-2
OPEN-MSITOUCM 1-2
This course explores the design, evaluation, and modernization of organizational database systems. Students analyze traditional Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) alongside alternative NoSQL and specialized data paradigms—including Key-Value, Document, Wide-Column, Graph, and Vector Databases. Using Weaviate, students gain hands-on experience building vector search infrastructure for generative AI applications, executing semantic search via approximate nearest neighbor (ANN) retrieval algorithms, and navigating collections using object-oriented data constructs. The course guides students through conceptual mapping, workload/scale projections, and RDBMS stress-testing to identify architectural breaking points while examining distributed scaling mechanisms, replication, and consensus protocols.
